19 months, and some change…

I seem to keep falling behind… I was so good at posting, and then life took over and what was a hobby has become nonexistent.

My little girl is now almost 20 months old, but we still have 13 days until then, so we will say she is 19 months and some change old.

Little girl, mama thinks you’re so beautiful! I love to just sat and watch you, and dream of what the future will hold for you. I hope that life is so much easier for you, than it has been for me. You are full of so much life, and have more energy than the energizer bunny. You have finally gotten to where you will sit still for me to read you a book, and I enjoy so much having you in my lap, and us reading together. Your brother loved, and still does, to have books read to him. I’m glad to see you are now enjoying this too. My sweet angel, you are so demanding! You have no patients, at all! But I can’t fault you for that, nor does your mama or daddy. So I guess you come by it naturally.

I love to watch you dance around the house, and jump from sofa to sofa (even though I don’t approve). You love to jump, and be chased.

I love curling up with you at night, and us talking before bed, and you going through all the words you can say. Mama finds it quite amusing…

You are a girl after my own heart; you love shoes, clothes and purses. I see a many girl days, in our future.

Lately you have also started showing some signs of being ready to start potty training. We have put you on the potty a few times, and nothing has happened, but I have to say, I’m ready for this. Mama is tired of buying diapers, and changing them.

Little girl, you are so sweet, and you have the most adorable face. I love you, more than you will ever know. Happy 19 months, and some change.

What happened to February...

Time just seems to be passing by, before I know it. I can’t believe we are at the end of February.

Life has definitely been hard the last few weeks. I know it will get better, but right now, it is really stressing me out. I could use a nice Spa day, oh how I mess those days. I could also use a goodnights sleep. But I will keep on hoping, and see what happens. You can wish and one hand, and sh!t in the other and see which gets filled first!

Thankfully, I’m finally feeling better. I just wish I had some energy. There I go again with the wishing…

The kiddos have been busy being kids, ~~and driving me a little crazy~~, I didn’t say that! Ash is just very demanding, and wants to be held all the time. I don’t remember the little man being so demanding; he has always been so easy going. I’m not complaining, I’m just putting it out there, that she can make one wish that bed time was at 7:00am, if you know what I mean. The clothes I got her from the Gap came in last night, and I can’t wait to play dress up. That might be on the schedule for tomorrow.

I finally treated myself to some TOMS yesterday, and let me just say, I LOVE THEM! They are so comfortable. I think I might go buy another pair. Every now and then, I feel I need to treat myself to something I want. But I will need to stop, over the last week I have spent more money than I have in probably the past two months. So, I need to go back on a spending freeze… But, I do need to buy a dress for a wedding that we have next week, after that, I’m done.

I’m still losing a pound here and there, I wish more than a pound here and there, but I will take what I can get. I’m just glad I’m losing some weight. The only thing that sucks, is I’m not getting to enjoy the food I love. Which I’m sure my husband is glad that I’m not going out to lunch every day, but I do miss it. It was my escape… Now I eat at my desk and end up working through lunch.

Sorry for the boring post… Cheers to it being Friday. I’m ready for the weekend, and not having to wake-up to an alarm. I just wish (I know, another I wish… I have a lot of them), I could get the little man to sleep in until 8:00 or later. One can hope!

We are complete...

Hello sunshine, nice to see ya after a dark and rainy cold day! My poor babies wanted to play outside so bad yesterday, as bubba kept telling me, “mama ride bike”. I have a pond outside my window from all the rain we got, so the only thing he would have been able to do was take a mud bath, or go mudding, but I think he is still to young to know what mudding is...

On Valentine’s Day, the husband got the kiddos on the front porch and decided to have a mini photo shoot. I just can’t believe how grown up my babies look in these pictures.

How precious does this sweet angel of mine look!?! So sweet and innocent! You wouldn’t ever think that she would hit, or knock the crap out of you, or bite you so hard it draws blood… No you wouldn’t ever think it.

Over the last few weeks, I think my body has been mourning the fact that I won’t ever be able to have another baby. If it was up to me, I would probably be pregnant right now, but due to me having high risk pregnancies, and my other health problems, it is best for me and our family if we don’t go down that road. Our family is complete, and I know that. But it still doesn’t change the fact, that I want another precious little one. My hormones have been all over the place, for about two weeks, I have been dreaming about giving birth to both of my babies, the same dream over and over. And it felt so real. If it weren’t for my IUD, I would have probably questioned if I was indeed pregnant.

We had a girls day yesterday, my Aunt and I took the little diva of mine shopping and got her a lot of new clothes (not to mention the night before I bought her several new outfits from the Gap). Let’s see how long it takes her to ruin these. She is so rough on her clothes.

I’ve been so fatigued lately, I feel like I could sleep for the next two days. Today is the first day in over a week, that I finally feel like I'm over being sick, thankyousoverymuch! We have birthday party to go to today, my nephew is going to be SIX this week. I can't believe it. Remembering back when he was a baby, and holding him. It just doesn't seem possible, that he is now a kid.

A little stressed...

I want to scream, I want to cry, I want to hide under my covers and not have to face reality! Ya know what I mean? The last six weeks, have been very overwhelming. I feel like I keep getting one hard ball after another. I would like to have a moment where I’m not stressing, over everything, and could have a moment of peace. Every time I think I get that moment of peace, something happens, and my anxiety kicks in. I’ve been very moody and distant lately... With my mind going nonstop with all the “what if’s”! The kiddos have been sick pretty much every week since the beginning of January, and it has now caught up with me. And of course when it hits me, it hits hard.

Not all of the last six weeks have been bad… The kiddos when they haven’t been running a fever, coughing, and blowing their noses, have been playing hard with trains (of course), the iPad, linclon logs, dolls, legos, blocks, more trains, going on walks and getting to play with friends at the mall. School has also kept them pretty busy.

The little man even got a new tricycle that he has enjoyed
getting to ride when he, sissy and daddy go on their daily walks around the neighborhood.

This little one, if she ain’t happy, no one is happy! True story… She has gotten really good at expressing herself, and letting you know when something isn’t going her way. As adorable as she is, and trust me baby girl, mama thinks you are the cutest most adorable baby girl in the world, but you are a true handful, and as bubba say “Ash a mess”!

She sure is!

With me being sick, I have lost a little over six pounds in two days! I’m not excited about the being sick part, but I’m over the moon happy about the six pounds! I had an IUD put in after I had Ash, and I seriously think it has kept me from losing weight from my last pregnancy, and not to mention, I just keep gaining weight. After I had the little man, I had lost all the baby weight within 2-3 months and was back in my pre-pregnancy clothes. This time around, I haven’t been able to fit back into most of my pre-pregnancy clothes. And it really has affected my mood! I have also turned to food, to deal with my stress over the past few months. I feel like I have let myself go, and right now I’m so miserable with the way I look. So, I’m happy with the six pounds, and hope I can continue to lose a few more pounds, I would be really happy with losing 20 more pounds. I don’t expect to have the same body that I had in my 20’s, but I do want to look and feel better than I do now. Sorry, I didn’t mean to get on this bandwagon, but it weighs on my mind every day, and every time I look in the mirror.

We do have a birthday party that we will be attending later this afternoon. We are looking forward to spending the afternoon with good friends.

Both of my babies are sound asleep, and were before 7:00. Pure sweetness! What to do, sit here and enjoy the peace and quiet, watch a movie, take a much needed shower, or call it an early night myself?

I would enjoy a good chick flick; just wish I had some wine.

18 months, a little late...

Oh sweet angel, mama is sorry she is little late on your post! But as the saying goes, better late than never! Life has just been a little overwhelming the last few weeks for mama, so I apologize. At the end of the day, your brother and you are the most important thing in my life, besides your daddy.

Little girl, you have no fear. You have to have gotten this from your daddy, because your mama is a straight up chicken! If it walks and talks like one, than it is, and that is your mama. You climb on everyone thing, jump off anything, even if there’s no one there to catch you, and it still doesn’t stop you. You bump your head or fall, and just pick yourself right back up as if nothing happened. Again, where did you come from? You truly amaze me. I hope you never lose this about you.

The last month or so your true personality has started to show. One minute you are my sweet and loving baby girl, and then without any warning, at all, you are throwing toys at your mama, daddy or brother. And sister, you got an arm and know how to aim and hit right on. You scare me! Not to mention you have picked up a habit that I truly want broke now, and it is hitting. Fortunately, your teachers say that you don’t do this at school, thank goodness; instead you save it for your brother and daddy. So, we really need to put an end to the hitting.

I love to hear your little voice; you are getting really good with your words. I can’t believe how many little things we catch you saying, you lower your voice and look all SWEET & INNOCENT when you are talking, almost as if you are shy and don’t want us to hear you, at times. Mama is going to try and list all the words we have heard you say lately, I just don’t want to forget: mama, dada, bubba, baba, juice, BeeBee, Dar, banana, Nana, Papa, hi, bye-bye, night, rice, cheese, two, shoe, choo choo, baby, thank you, I, ball, blankie, cracker, Chlo Chlo, Izzy, Ty, outside, fry and book. I’m sure there are a few words I might have left out, sorry about that. But mama is truly amazed. Not to mention, you love to sing and dance!

I know in about 10 days you will be 19 months… But Happy 18 months, sweet angel. Let’s see what the next month holds, bring it, I’m ready…

We love you my sweet, brave, determined, thrill seeking little girl!

Twice in one day, it can't be good for ya...

Is it bad that I had McDonald’s twice today? I feel bad about it, but the little man wanted it for dinner. Who was I to tell him no, when it was just us for dinner!?! Needless to say, I think I could go another month, without eating there again… Even though I am craving their hot cakes. Have you ever had McDonald’s hot cakes? They are so freaking good, so now I thinking that we might be going back tomorrow morning for the hot cakes, but after that, no McDonald’s for at least a month! Glad I have a plan for in the morning now, also glad we could have this conversation, it was much needed, after my bad eating habits today. I promise this post isn’t going to be all about McDonald’s, or at least I hope not…

In case you didn't know it is Friday, and I have to say I’m glad the work week is over. I’m very thankful to have a job, but I'm also thankful for the weekend! Come Friday afternoons at 5:00, I can be found at my desk doing a happy dance, as I packing my stuff up...

The kiddos met me at work today, the husband and I gave each other hi-fives as we had our changing of the guards for the evening. The kiddos and I came home and ate our not so healthy dinner, played a little in the playroom, which happens to be on entire house, ended the evening with baths. Ash is now in bed, and I was trying to talk the little man into going to be at 8:00, but since it is already after 8:00, I guess you can see that didn’t happen.

My little man is excited that mama is off for the next few days. The last few mornings he has woke up, saying “mommy peas (please) stay home.” That just breaks my heart, because if mama could, mama would stay home each day with my babies.

Not much planned for the weekend, just me and the kiddos again tomorrow. I know the kiddos are ready to see some BeeBee & Dar, so maybe if they are lucky, they will get to see them on Sunday. I know I’m also hoping to see them on Sunday, can you say naptime for me while they are here! I might also try to squeeze in a shower, since it probably won’t happen tomorrow, but I have gotten use to showing every other day lately. I would really love to get my hair done, it hasn’t been cut or colored since like August I think, which that is a little longer than every six weeks. I have really been neglecting myself.

I also skipped out of physical therapy all week… My doctor isn’t going to be happy, but I have news flash for him, I’m not happy with him so, I'm thinking my Monday treatment is going to be a lot of fun, as I will probably get lectured, but I have a lecture prepared for him, myself… I will get back in the swing of things hopefully next week, if he doesn’t continue to piss me off.

What are your plans on this Friday evening? I’m watching Thomas the Tank Engine, while my son also is watching YouTube videos of Thomas the Tank Engine on the iPad… My brain is on Thomas overload. I wish I could convince him to watch a mama movie, but I know that isn’t going to happen, because I reach for the remote, he takes it from me, and tells me “no mama, we watch Thomas.” Really, we did my kids decide this was their house, and I'm just a visitor. Last time I checked the TV and iPad are both mine. All I have to say, is I am so very thankful for my DVR!

A little break...

Hi-ya! I’ve been a little MIA the last week or so. Sometimes you just need a break… I’ve been in one of those moods where it been a pity party for one, and so I thought I would spare everyone the drama, and just take a break. I truly hate when I go through these mood swings, and start feeling sorry for myself. I have so much to be thankful for. I don’t understand WHY I choose to focus on the negative stuff vs all the positive that I have in my life. I would definitely say the positive outweighs the negative. But for whatever reason I seem to hang onto the negative, and let it take over.

We had a great weekend; it was just me and the kiddos for most of it. The husband had to work some long hours, so we didn’t really see him until Sunday night for dinner. I don’t like when he has to work that much and neither do the kids. Poor little man kept asking every 30 minutes on Sunday, when is Daddy going to be home? So he was really happy to see Daddy, and so was Ash. I was too, but I took a backseat to the kids, and the football game. I’m so ready for football to be OVER! So we really took it easy this weekend, stayed in our jammies, played with trains, played outside, and just enjoyed the time we had together. I don’t get time like this with them very often.

The husband is back in school, and I’m back in physical therapy. I have another 12 weeks of it, and I’m ready to be done. I’m hoping and praying that this does the trick, because if not, I will be faced with possibly another surgery, and neither I nor my doctor wants to go that route due to the possible complications.

This past weekend, the weather couldn’t have been anymore perfect than it was on Sunday. We got up ate breakfast, and took it outside to play ball, play fetch with the dogs, and climb a fence or two. The only down side, I pulled something in my lower back, and it kept me from doing some things, but we still had fun. We finished the laundry and got the house picked up before Daddy got home from work, but that only lasted about five minutes. The little man was so excited to see his Daddy; it was like he ate an entire bowl of sugar he was so wound up. I wasn't able to get him settled down, and to bed until after ten. He was that excited. They aren't used to Daddy being gone two days in a row… Me yes, I leave the house during the work week (Monday-Friday) at 7:30, and don’t return home until 5:30 or later, so he is use to Mama being gone, but Daddy is always with them during the day, so this really threw him off.

Not sure what the rest of the week is going to hold for us, but I’m glad Monday is over. This will be my first week since before Christmas working a full five day work week. And it’s only Tuesday and I’m very exhausted. Hopefully come tomorrow, I will find some energy to get me through the week.

100 miles away...

What am I, chopped liver...

Do you ever feel like choppedliver? Well, my kids had a way of makingme feel that way the other day. My Auntor BeeBee as the kids call her, stayed the night with us the either night, andneither one of my kiddos wanted anything to do with me or the husband. All we heard all night was BeeBee pay (play),BeeBee hold me, or as the little girl says or should I say screams BEEBEE, overand over!

So yea, that night I felt likechopped liver as I asked my son to please give me a kiss and let me cuddle withhim before I went to bed, and he looked at my Aunt, and said BeeBee hold me. I have to admit, my heart dropped to thefloor. As I know my son didn’t mean to hurtmy feelings, my feelings were hurt.

I do know how much Bubba& Ash love them some BeeBee & Dar, but dang it I’m Mama! I even fake cried, and I got nothing! I mean NOTHING, from him! What is up with that, little man? You are my sweet, caring little man. But the other night all you wanted wasBeeBee, and Mama went to bed feeling like chopped liver, thrown to the side ofthe road, and left for someone else to abuse.

Happy New Year...

Happy New Year! I would love to tell ya that we rang in the New Year with friends, and toasted each other as the clock turned midnight, but that just isn’t how it played out for us…

The truth is, I didn’t even make till 9:00! The husband worked last night, and he was able to ring in the New Year, as he does every year. I had planned on staying up and watching a movie, but as soon as I saw the little man asleep, my eyes became heavy and the next thing I knew we were both passed out on the couch. What an exciting evening. We are serious party animals over here!

I was able to manage a shower, shave my legs, and paint my toe nails as if I thought I was going somewhere. But the last shower of the year was very much needed.

We will be spending the day with family, and I’m sure my Aunt will make sure black eye peas are eaten by all, even though we don’t like them.

Reflecting back over the year...

I thought I would take a minute to reflect back on 2011, before we jump head first into 2012. First, this year went by within the blink of an eye for me us. Every time I turned around, I felt we were being faced with some kinda challenge. I know that is life, but it seems like some years you are challenged more, and this was one of those years for me us.

The year started out with this little angel being 6 months old… So sweet and innocent!

What happened!?! Just kidding, but my Ash is a little spit fire and is now a year and half old, and likes to talk back!

Even though you are a little spit fire, you are still my little angel, that I adore. I'm so thankful for having you in my life!

The little man had just turned two, and had started speech therapy and school.

Now he is three, and we can’t get him to stop talking! He is potty trained (thank you), and had decided that momma's bed, is his bed. But at the end of the day, I wouldn't have it any other way, I enjoy getting to cuddle with my baby boy!

I couldn't be prouder of you! You are my first born, and will always be my baby boy!

The husband and I celebrated our six year wedding anniversary! And had our first night away from the kiddos, in three years, WOW! I'm looking forward to another getaway! Maybe 2012 will have a vacation for two, on the agenda... I also had my first girls night out, in four years, it was a blast. Looking forward to more of those also, come 2012. Every now and then, momma needs to let her hair down! The husband also had his first guys trip in probably five years, and I have to say that was really hard on me. So no more of those!

Come Sunday, we will be putting together our resolutions for 2012. I feel that this is something we need to do.

This year in a whole, wasn’t that bad, minus my health problems. We are blessed with two amazing children, which I couldn’t be more thankful for! And I'm blessed with a husband that loves me (most of the time)!

I couldn’t resist myself… I was in Nordstrom right before Christmas, and what did I see, a pink pair of TOMS calling Ash’s name! I just knew they would be the perfect match for my shoe loving little girl.

I want a pair for myself, not in pink, but in a more neutral color. I guess now that she has a pair, I will be buying me a pair pretty soon.

My little monkey face...

Do you ever feel the need for change? I do all the time. I crave it, but yet I'm scared of it. Last week I was up way later than I should I have been one night, and all I could think about was cutting my hair. I didn’t do it then, I waited until the following morning to make sure it was something I wanted to do, and it was. So, away I went on my bangs. My poor husband still hasn’t recovered from me cutting my hair. But I like them. This isn’t the first time I have had bangs, but this is the first time I have cut them myself. I just needed a different look, and I didn’t feel like going to the salon to have them charge an arm and leg for something that I could do, you know what I mean!?!

Anyways, I’m enjoying the day off today. The kids are away, the husband is doing his thing, so that means time to myself. Which is much needed. I have been going non-stop, so it is nice to be able to lounge around the house, and not have someone constantly pulling on me…

Happy Hump Day! Cheers to my day off, and only a few more days until the New Year. Do you have any plans for New Years Eve? Not us, the husband will be working that night. Do you have any resolutions? I have a few, but I need to write them down. I will probably wait until New Years Eve to do it!

Happy One Year Blogiversary

I can’t believe it has been a year since I first wrote this post… My how things have changed… My daughter turned a year old, my son is now three, and the husband & I celebrated our six year anniversary. Along the way, I have developed some health problems that have taken toll on my family, what fun!

When I started this blog I didn’t know what I really wanted out of it. I knew I wanted to document the milestones of my babies, but I have also met some awesome people, and I’m thankful for that.

So, without getting all mushy, I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone that reads my blog! I enjoy reading your comments, and seeing your point of view. I hope you will continue to be apart of this journey.

A wonderful Christmas...

I can't believe Christmas has come and gone… Christmas Eve, we took the kids outside to leave Reindeer food, to start the process, and make new traditions. It was fun, Ash just run around the neighborhood, and the little man thought we were really feeding reindeer.

I’ve learned being a parent; you have to be pretty creative, and come up with come backs to questions pretty fast. But it was fun, they enjoyed it, and so did I.

Christmas morning they were sweet, and let us sleep in until after 8:00. And since Mr. & Mrs. Claus didn’t go to bed until after midnight, it was definitely a treat for us. The little man is at the age now where he gets it, and it was so fun and exciting to see his face come Christmas morning. But Ash didn’t skip a beat. She made a mad dash into the living room to see all the goodies while bubba was a little taken back with everything he saw. Santa was good, but Santa is always good!

After enjoying the gifts that Santa left, we had Christmas with my family. And it was the never-ending gifts of trains for the little man. Every box he opened had trains and more trains. He was so excited he couldn't stand himself. I remember what it was like on Christmas morning when I was a kid, and the excitement that took over my body. I want that for my babies so bad...

The husband out did himself with Christmas dinner, it was
very good. Everyone enjoyed the meal, and the company. With this being our first year having Christmas at our house, I think we pulled it off. And my Nana did really well, and that in itself was the best Christmas present. She has had a rough week, so her being about to be here, and be herself was amazing.

After we did Christmas at our house, we had to rush to the
other side of town to have Christmas with the in-laws. And that is always an adventure. A house full of seven kids that are tired by this point… Yeah nothing but yelling, fighting, and making the adults want to the pull their hair out. But we made it. We did try to get picture of the kids, and as usual this is the turn out...

For me, it was a perfect Christmas, just getting to be with family is all you need. Even if it is chaotic, what family isn’t? My children got more stuff than they need, but they have been on cloud nine all day playing with everything.

I will say I’m tired, and it has been a lazy day, today. We have all stayed in our pajamas today, which is fine with me. I do have to return to work tomorrow, so hopefully I will be able to get some rest to tonight, because I need it.

I can’t believe in seven days it will be the New Year. I need to start working on my goals. This is our first year we are going to write down our goals together, but I think it is something we need to do. Do you write goals together as a family for the New Year?

This morning the first words out of his mouth were “Santa Claus come”!

Someone was in train heaven...

What better place to go see so many trains than your eyes can believe, than North Park!?! I honestly didn’t think it was possible for someone to have more trains than us…

But I was wrong, they outnumbered us by ONE!

While I was getting put under, to be stabbed in the back, the kiddos got to have fun looking at the trains. This adorable little boy was in serious train heaven!

Who could blame him... Just looking at the pictures I can tell it was a site to see!

Sometimes it just is...

Sometimes it just is, if you know what I mean… I have found the hardest part of parenting for me, is when both kids are sick, and so is mama…. Or they are full of energy and mama is sick…

Right now as usual, it seems to be common theme in our parts, both kids are sick and so was mama the night before. Come yesterday morning, I could barely lift my head. And even though the kids are sick, it is different than when the adults are sick. The needy part isn’t different I guess, but I give my kids medicine, and it’s as if they just ate a bowl of sugar. Of course I’m not going to let them suffer, and run a fever… But why on earth does the medicine give them the energy of 20 kids!?!

This is what I was thinking yesterday, as I could barely lift my head from the couch, and I had two little ones full of energy. All I wanted was their energy, and to feel better after being up (yet another) night!

Thankful me for (but not soon enough), the Aunt and Uncle (as always) came to my rescue, and took care of the kids while I got to just close my eyes for about an hour. On a good night I get maybe 3-4 hours of sleep, but lately, I haven’t even been getting that!

Yesterday was a big day; it was my Nana’s first Christmas party at the nursing home. So, no matter how bad I felt, I knew it was extremely important for her and our family for me to find at least a little energy to get me through it. So I did, we went, and the kids got to see Nana AND Santa Claus! Can’t say it was a joyous afternoon with Santa, but at least they did get to see him, and actual got to spend time with him, without being just a number at the mall, if you know what I mean. I think we ended up with about half of his bag of candy canes...

Someone was more interested in the iPhone, than Santa...

Who is the crazy person touching me, Dar!?! I will not let go of you, make him stop, pretty please...

But leave it to the great grandparents, to get her to take a picture with Santa...

It was really a nice afternoon, I’m glad I didn’t end up staying home (as that was my first thought). I would have regretted not being there for my Nana and family. This has been a big and emotional year for our family, with us putting her in the nursing home, and I have tried hard to make sure at least once week I either go see her, or invite my grandparents to our house to visit. So no matter how bad I felt, I put it aside (like always), to do the right thing and not miss a special day. My Nana (and I'm sure my Papa too), were very happy to have the entire family together for a few hours.

The sad part for me yesterday, was learning how many people don’t come and see their parents or grandparents in the nursing home, especially at this time of year. That is just unreal to me. As our family has always been close, and see’s each other all the time. I talk to my Aunt sometimes 4-5 times a day on the phone, and before all this started happening with my Nana, I would talk to her at least twice a day. When Sue told me this yesterday, it just broke my heart, to know that some of these ladies are all by themselves! Their family should really be ashamed of themselves. One son came all the way in for the weekend from LA, I would say if he could make it, the rest of them should have been able too. Yes, I’m bitter about this. It’s the holidays; it’s the time for family to be together. I know it is hard seeing the person you love inside the home, I do it pretty much each week, but at least we are still able to be together. And at the end, that is what is important!

I do have a lot to do today, we need to get our shop on, and get Christmas shopping done! I have treatment tomorrow (thank you lord), and I will be down and out for a few days... This is kinda the last day for me to really try to get most of it done. Wish me luck!

Hope you and your familys have had a nice weekend. The sun finally has been out for a few days, and I needed the sun in my life. When it rains for too many days in a row, I start to get really blue. So happiness is here today, hopefully.

Where has my Holiday cheer gone...

Okay, I seriously need to find my Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays mojo, if you know what I mean.

I have two beautiful children that need to enjoy the magic of Christmas as I did as a little girl, and right now, I suck in this department.

So, I’ve been listening to Christmas music trying to find the spirit. But so much is going on in other parts of my life that it is making it hard. My husband and children are fine, that part of my life is great, just other parts aren’t. It is very stressful right now.

I need to find my happy pants, and be thankful. I’m beyond blessed, and need to stop being so down in the dumps. So let's pour me a glass of wine, and we will all be Merry, and maybe a little buzzed (I didn't just say that)! This will be our first year having my family over for Christmas. We have always gone to my Nana & Papa’s for Christmas. And I think this is going to be a lot harder on me than I thought. I thought I was going to be okay with doing this, and I am, but it is getting to be a little emotional for me. But Christmas time is for the kids, and I've always LOVED Christmas. My family always went out of their way, to make sure it was special. And I do want that for my babies, so bad. So this weekend, this mama needs to get busy.

17 months...

Life has been a little chaotic lately, and things keep slipping through the cracks… I completing forgot to post my daughters 17 month old post… I wouldn’t say I forgot, but in the process of the husband studying for his finals last week, it was kinda stressful in this house.

My sweet angel is now 17 months old, and I just need it to slow down. Little one, you are so determined, and very strong willed! I find those to be both very good qualities, but not when you are talking back to me… Just letting you know. I think you are the most precious little girl in world, and I'm over joyed to be your mother. I love to watch you tease your brother, and see you run into your daddy’s arms like there is no better place on earth than in his arms. I'm convinced you just like to drive me crazy, but that’s okay, I got this. I’m the master at driving people crazy (ask your dad), so we are match made in heaven. I love watching you dance around the house, it reminds me of me when I was a little girl.

Sorry mama was a few days late on getting this up, we will just blame dad, it's okay he is used to it...

Happy 17 months, sweet precious angel of mine! I adore you so much, and cherish every minute I have with you, even when we are yelling at one another.

Hello Wednesday, hello December 14…. I can’t believe we are 11 days away from Christmas! The only items I have bought, have been for my kiddos teachers, and I say teachers meaning all seven of them. That is a lot… I need to get on the ball, and get the rest of it done. I’m not a fan of waiting until Christmas Eve, but I have gotten to where the crowds in the store cause me to stress out. I can’t explain it, but I start sweating and getting nervous as if I’m having a panic attack.

I’m hoping for some sunshine today, it has been rainy the last few days… And when it is rainy, all I want to do is be in bed. Okay, I will be honest; I always want to be in bed… But I really do when it is rainy. So I could use a little sunshine in my life right now.

I truly am on a mission to lose weight, and I was doing really go right before Thanksgiving. But who was I kidding, trying to lose weight right in the middle of the holidays!?! Sometimes I miss...

Sometimes I miss you holding my hand… Sometimes I miss you giving me a kiss out of nowhere for no reason but just because you love me and you wanted to... Sometimes I miss us going out to dinner and having long conversations over a glass of wine, with no stresses of life… Sometimes I miss going on trips, and taking adventures together…

But then I look at these two, and realize where we are in our life is right where we are supposed to be… Even if it does mean giving up some of the things I miss. At the end, I still have you and you still have me, we are just playing different roles in our lives.

And I know one day, I will miss having these two little ones running through the house tearing everything apart, screaming mama & daddy, and driving us crazy at times!

Glad's it's Friday...

Glad's it's Friday, and you!?!

I’m here, I'm alive… I have shingles, and to say the least it is pretty painful. Every time I turn around it is something. I could really use a break, NOW! The best part about it all, I was always told that I had never had the chicken pox, so the doctor and I both were scratching our heads as to how I could have shingles. Well come to find out, my mother now says I did have a really mild case of the chicken pox.

And no one wants to be around me, pretty sad… I’m not contagious, unless you haven’t had the chicken pox.

We did get our Christmas tree up, and the kiddos have had a great time pulling it apart. But at least it is up, now if we could just get the Christmas lights up outside, we would be doing good. I have to say, I love having the Christmas tree up, I find it very relaxing. Before we had kids, I would fall asleep in the living room almost every night.

A night away...

Howdy, how ya been!?! Me, I'm here! A little tired from the VERY packed holiday weekend, but I’m alive and did make it. I was probably a little grumpy come Sunday, but you know what it's okay. I had been going pretty much non-stop the entire month of November, who wouldn’t be a little grumpy!?!

The husband and I had our first night away from the kiddos this past weekend. I have to say it was nice, it was nice getting to have one on one time (that we don't hardly ever get), it was nice not having to be in constant parent mode, and it was nice getting to be with our friends to celebrate the wedding of two of our closest friends.

It was a beautiful wedding, the bride was gorgeous and the groom was handsome. We have known these two for at least seven - eight years, and we consider them family. I’m so happy for them, and I wish them a lifetime of happiness.

As I did enjoy the night away, I was very excited to see my babies the next day. Don’t tell anyone, but I think they missed me a little and were happy to see me too! It’s just a feeling I got…

I did tell the husband that we need to do this again (soon). It has been WAY too long, since we have gone out and acted immature, and sometimes I think you need to act immature, don’t you!?! We celebrated, danced, talked, laughed, toasted each other, and didn’t worry about the problems of life!

Cheers to the happy couple! And it's almost bedtime, I'm ready for bed, I need to sleep for like 72 hours...

One tired turkey...

I made it through Thanksgiving, barely, but I made it! My family wasn’t even out of the house good, before I was climbing in my bed. All I could think was, I had a small window to take a nap, before my little diva woke from her's. Pretty sad, I know… But I was up with two sick kiddos throwing up the night before, and it was after 1:00 in the morning before I got settled on the couch (after washing two different loads and having to handwash two blankies), to be woke up by the husband wanting to know why we were sleeping the couch… Really, can we talk about it later!

Our Thanksgiving was very nice! My husband out did himself getting all the side dishes together. I know he was beyond tired himself since he worked the night before and didn’t get home until 5:00 in the morning. But he we pulled it off. It might not have been with the same class of my Nana’s, but we were all together, and everyone left with full bellies .

I truly have so much to be thankful for, and sometimes I (like most people) lose sight of what is important at times. It’s easy to do when you're feeling sorry for yourself. But at the end of the day, I’m always reminded, by two sweet babies, what is important. I try not to take my blessings for granted, as I’m so thankful for them all.

Yesterday morning as I was getting the kiddos ready (half asleep), I was talking to them about all the things that we are thankful for. I’m pretty I was talking to myself, and that they didn't understand one word I was saying, but hopefully one day they will.

Family traditions are very important to me, and always have been. I’m trying my best to following the traditions that my Papa & Nana put in place, as family get togethers are now being held at our house. As the food and company are the same, it is so different not have the holiday dinners at my Papa & Nana’s house. But, I’m so very thankful that my Nana was able to be with us yesterday.

Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving yesterday! No Black Friday shopping for us… I have a wedding I have to start getting ready for. I just hope I can fit into the dress still, after all the food I have consumed.

A free evening...

Who has a free evening...

That would be me, and at the moment I have to say I’m BORED! I guess this is what happens when you are use to two little ones running around your house that constantly keep you entertained. So what to do, watch all the movies I have on the DVR that are taking up space, rent a movie, take a long bath, or just go to bed to make-up for the lack of sleep I have been getting lately? What should a girl do, maybe a little of each…

I’m a little stressed (I’m really always stressed), but right now I’m REALLY stressed! We have so much to accomplish over the next few days, and I just hope to make it through the next few days. Tomorrow we have a wedding rehearsal, then my family is coming over on Thursday for Thanksgiving dinner (we haven’t gone to the store to buy anything for dinner, don’t even know what we are fixing), then the actual wedding on Friday, and Sunday we will have be having Thanksgiving with the husbands side of the family. I’m really stressed about how we are going to be pull off Thanksgiving on Thursday, and then me making it through everything we have planned.

Mama's boy...

I love this little boy so much! He's my baby boy, and always will be. And for now, he is a mama's boy... It's kinda funny, in the mornings he won’t little daddy get his milk or help with anything. He says, no daddy, no daddy… Over and over… While daddy might not find it funny, I do. And for the time being, I'm over the moon that my baby boy wants his mama.

I know there is going to come a time, when this will change... But for now, I'm going to hold onto him as tight as I can, and savor every moment.

Its okay, the little girl is all about her daddy, and wants little to do with me most of the time. I guess that is how it goes.

My nephew’s 1^st birthday party was a success, everyone had a great time.

He is just too cute, he seriously makes me want to have another baby... He reminds me a little of my baby boy, with his smile, and the way his face lights up when he smiles and laughs...

And thanks to my Aunt & Uncle for coming over, I was able to enjoy a much needed nap. As usual I was up most of the night last night. Hopefully my doctor will be able to do something about this on Monday when I go in for my treatment…

We are calling it an early night, both kiddos are already asleep. I don't know what to do with the free time, watch a girl flick, have a glass of wine, or go to bed. Since my eye lids are heavy, I guess going to bed will be what ends up happening.

Girls what’s my weakness, MEN…

Okay then chillin’ chillin’ mindin’ my business…

Who doesn’t love a little Salt & Pepper on a Saturday morning!?!

This segment is about you guessed it, my weaknesses… That are keeping me from losing the weight I would LOVE to lose.

FIRST, have you tried the new Mint M&M’s? OMG, they’re that good. They’re melt in your mouth pure goodness! I would have loved to have shared with you, so you could have tried it for yourself, but I ate them all, yes all TWO bags! Someone (not going to mention any names à BeeBee) bought me TWO bags… I like crave them, like in the middle of the night wake up wanting them. They are a must try, but be careful, they are addicting.

SECOND, I love onion dip. I ate a ton of it when I was pregnant. I guess I should have just eaten plan salt, it would have been cheaper. I mean, I clean the bowl to where there is nothing left, its finger licking good! So, we had some for the little man’s birthday party, and I just finished the last of it, yes for breakfast, don’t judge.

AND, we have a birthday party today, where there is going to be more sweets. I need to go to sweets rehab, or meetings for my addiction to sweets.

What are your weaknesses? Please share, I want to know that I’m not alone here. I never use to have this problem, but since having kids, my eating habits have gone to you know what, in a big way. I’m trying to find my way back, to the healthy Shanna, but it is so HARD!

That’s all I have on this fine Saturday morning. Hope your Saturday is filled with Mint M&M’s and Onion Dip, mine was! It will also be filled with screaming kids, and cupcakes or cake, either way it will be filled with sweetness…

weekly recap...

Hello Friday, boy am I ready for bed. This has been one LONG week, and each day I have felt like I could barely make it through the day. The lack of sleep is definitely taking its toll on me. I don’t have a problem falling asleep; it’s staying asleep that is the problem. I feel like I could go to bed right this minute and sleep thru Sunday… But of course that isn’t going to happen, if I am able to sleep thru the night, I will be woken up bright and early by two little ones that will be ready to start their day, full of energy.

We have another full weekend, with a birthday party tomorrow and a family get together on Sunday. My mother-in-law is in town, so we are trying to take advantage of all the time we can with her before she heads back home. And the husband has to work all weekend, so that means it is going to be an extra long weekend for me. Do I have any takers that would like to come over and help?

I didn’t do a weekly recap last week, since I busy planning a birthday party. But let’s just say last week I was down another pound from the week before. This week, I’m up a pound from the week before. So you do the math, I have gained two pounds in a week, thanks to cupcakes, a cookie cake, candy, a cake, ice cream and cookies… And we will be having more sweets tomorrow! Pretty much all I have eaten this week is sweets, so no need for me to list it out and embarrass myself, you get the idea for breakfast, lunch and dinner I was consuming some kind of sweet treat vs real food. I have been drinking lots of water, so I will give myself a slap on the back for at least continuing to drink water. I hope to get somewhat back on track this week, but with it being Thanksgiving (I can’t believe we are a few days away from Thanksgiving), I’m sure a lot of comfort food will be consumed. But I’m going to try hard to be good.

I’m saying goodnight, I can barely keep my eyes open to type this post, and my daughter is in bed screaming.

Happy birthday to my sweet baby boy...

Today my sweet baby boy is THREE! I can’t believe you're already THREE! I’m so proud of you; you have accomplished so much over this past year. You're truly one laid back, caring, passionate little fella… I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday, and all the emotions that ran through my body. When I first saw you, my heart skipped a beat, I was so in love. Butterflies filled my stomach; I was so excited to meet you. I remember them taking you to the nursery and me staying up the entire night until they brought you back to me, so we could be together. We are forever bound together, and you will always be my baby boy. The love I have for you, runs so deep, it hurts at times.

I knew today would be an emotional day for me. I’m not ready for you to be THREE! I reflect back, and miss that chunky little monkey of mine. Now you have slimmed down, talking back to me at times, and holding hands with a girl (which I don’t approve of).

I hope your day is filled with LOVE, and I hope you know how much you are LOVED!

I’m so thankful that God choose me to be your mother. I LOVE you so much, and here’s too many more birthdays sweet boy!

What I Wore Wednesday...

Hello Wednesday and to the heat wave that has hit Texas! Here we are in the middle of November, and we are having 80 degree weather, only in Texas can it be 40 degrees one day and 80 degrees the next. It’s been a crazy week, we celebrated my son’s 3^rd birthday over the weekend, and he had a great time. And it seems the celebration has continued thru the week. I remember when I got excited over my birthday, and would try to drag it out the entire month. My how times have change, now I just try to avoid the whole getting older thing all together!

Cheers to it being Wednesday. Not that I’m rushing my life away, but I’ ready to be done with this week already. I’m not sleeping too well or should I say not sleeping at all it seems (which I don't understand, because I dead tired), so I'm looking forward to my treatment on Monday. I also know that Thursday is going to be an emotional day for me, since that's my son’s actual birthday. Yes, I will be the mother crying like a baby…

A traintastic party...

What a traintastic weekend we have had! We celebrated my baby boy’s 3^rd birthday, and it was a wonderful day surrounded by family and friends!

I don’t know about you, but I always get EXTREMELY stressed out, when it comes to the birthday parties. I want them to be so perfect, that I end up stressing myself and everyone else out. And at the end of the day no matter what they're always perfect, due to the family and friends that come together to help us celebrate. But until the actual day arrives, I always stress out about the decorations, food, and making sure I have enough in place for everyone to have a great time. So yesterday, I was really stressed and I think it showed more than usual for whatever reason.

All in all, it was great day! And thank you to everyone, that helped make his day perfect!

Hope whatever your plans might be, for this beautiful fall Sunday, that you're having a traintastic time! We are going to take it easy today, and play with all the wonderful gifts we received. We have more train tracks than we know what to do with. So our Sunday with be full of Thomas the Tank Engine, and a little Chuggington on the side.

Someone has a crush...

He’s been saying Kate, a lot lately. And I just thought he was referring to his cousin Kate.

Little did I know, he has been holding hands and running around with a little girl at school, which happens to be named Kate. The teachers think it's so cute…

You are suppose to be playing with your trains, not worrying about holding hands with little girls...

Little man, I feel a little betrayed here. I already told you (and everyone else pretty much), no girlfriends until you are 50! And yes, I’m dead serious!

Can someone tell me what happened to this little boy?

And when you find him, tell him I want my baby back, pretty please! I’m not ready for female friends, and you getting excited about going to school because you are going to see Kate.

The 1st haircut...

Today we took the plunge and got the little girls haircut… To be totally honest, I wasn’t ready to do this. I don’t understand why this was so hard for me, and why I have waited so long, but I have. I'm not ready for her to be a toddler, even though she already is.

Happy 2nd, 6th Anniversary...

Today is the day that the husband and I said “I DO” in Jamaica six years ago. What I wouldn’t give to be in Jamaica right now, with my feet in the sand and a nice cold beverage in my hand! One day, I hope we will be able to return to where we said “I DO”, in front of our family and dear friends.

What a great time we had!

16 months...

Sweet angel, today you're 16 months… As I say it all the time, where has the time gone!?! You’re such an active little go getter. You don’t let anything stand in your way, including mama & daddy! You climb on everything, it’s nothing to walk in our house and find you on top of the kitchen table. Not that, that’s where I want you, because I don’t, but you don’t listen to well! You're very determined, my strong willed child!

You love your bubba so much! I love to watch you two together… Your bubba loves you just as much, even though he doesn’t want to share with you!

You're my own little garbage disposal, you eat around the clock, no joke. I want to know where it goes, because you weight nothing. But from the time you get up, until you go to bed, you are either at the table, or have a snack cup in your hand.

Sweetheart, and I do mean sweetheart, you have attitude… Not always in a good way either. I can tell, you're going to keep me very busy!

Steppin' Out Saturday...

Yes, I’m aware that it's Monday and I’m just now posting my Steppin' out Saturday… At least I got dressed and stepped out, right!?! That’s how I look at it. This is my first time joining the SOS, so welcome me… This is also the first time in about four years that I have stepped out on Saturday night with or without kiddos. Yes, one might say I live a pretty boring adult life. Let's not talk about it, okay...

This is what I wore out to my girlfriend’s bachelorette party. We had a great time or I did, I enjoyed getting to spend the evening with friends, and getting to try to dance like the younger kids. I’m no longer in my prime, but I did give it a try. Let's just say my hips don't move like they once did! And it also took me an entire day, to recover from a night out. Good-bye 20’s and hello 30’s! But even though I was down and out yesterday, it was worth it. Sometimes, you just need a night out, and I forgot how much I needed it.

weekly recap...

I currently have a never-ending pounding headache… I’ve been trying for two days to get rid of this headache, and it has decided to camp out right behind my right eye.

I’m ready for the husband to come home, I miss him! This is the first boy trip he has taken in probably five years. I started crying yesterday when he left, and it didn’t help that my son was asking non-stop where daddy was. So no more boy trips!

Tomorrow night the girls are getting together and having a girls night. I haven’t had a girls night out in probably four years. Looking forward to it, but I will probably be passed in the limo with a “Do Not Disturb” sign on my forehead by 10:30!

As for my weekly recap, I've done pretty good this week. I was down two pounds today, which I think I was down more than that, but I had heavy clothes on when I weighed in, so I will take my two pounds and be happy about it. I have lost over six pounds since I started doing this. Yay me! Now if I could just lose 20 more pounds I would be really happy and back into most of the clothes in my closet that I haven’t been able to wear in over 3 years (thanks to being pregnant back to back).

I truly think the detox is working, and I think it does give me some energy, which is something I truly need. I have been drinking a lot of water. I can’t say that I’m eating all that great, but I have cut out the snacking, or most of it.
